agreed! stop remaking films into subpar, made-for-thrills adaptations when artists are brimming with original ideas & eager to share their new takes on timeless stories with different plots, settings, and characters.

the thrill of something new > endless cash grab re-imaginings.
Honestly, nearly none? I'd rather see new ideas, in adaptation or originally written for the screen, than remakes. That said, if one must have remakes, I'd do the ones where the initial movie had a cool concept, not perfectly executed for whatever reason (time/money/effects/studio interference/etc).
Mind running with the last bit of that, O film critic turned novelist, and giving us your list of films you'd especially appreciate seeing remade?

So just to get this straight: 👇

Six months ago CBS paid Trump a $16 million bribe to get him to approve an $8 billion merger to allow David & Larry Ellison to effectively own Paramount, who then immediately made Bari Weiss head of CBS News so that she could kill damaging coverage about Trump. 😳

If you're an academic using AI for your scholarly work, you deserve shame.

If you use AI for work that you submit, you should be banned from that forum. Whatever journal, conference, workshop series - banned.

Maybe you can appeal after a few years. Maybe.
I’m sorry, but it is disgraceful to be an academic who uses this technology to conduct research. It should be prohibited in all of our scholarly institutions, including universities and journals.

I love working at the Department of Justice and participating in a conspiracy to cover up the demented 80 year old president's sex crimes. I spend 18 hours a day redacting documents and there's a putrid husk where my soul used to be

did anyone expect a different outcome? I wish I could take back every second I ever spent in church.
An ecclesiastical court in the Anglican Church in North America has acquitted a Chicago-area bishop who was accused of violating church laws by mishandling a sex abuse case and allowing men with troubling histories into his diocese.

#SanDiegoStateUniversity #SDSU administrators voting to enrich each other while raising student fees, as students need food assistance/live out of cars/classes are cut/prof's losing benefits, is DISGRACEFUL. #CSUChancellor is paid over a mil--a 66% INCREASE FROM 2020! #GREED IS RUINING EDUCATION.

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

Sexual assault survivors are seeing politicians and TV personalities fall over themselves trying to obfuscate the horror of what Epstein did. Turn cartwheels to protect his powerful cronies.

Imagine the message that sends to them.

Now imagine why sexual assault survivors don’t come forward.

I hope John Roberts is held accountable in my lifetime.
This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

If you boycott elections, candidates logically ignore you and focus on the voters they can still get.

There’s a reason pundits keep nudging Dems to a mushy middle. Those folks are idiots, yes, but they’re idiots who show up to vote.

And that matters more to a candidate than your smart apathy.
