Breaking: Peaceful activists, many with disabilities, are being arrested at the Capitol right now. These individuals are putting themselves on the line to do all they can to save healthcare for millions of Americans.

People living under fascism didn’t survive by giving up joy—they protected it.

They held onto the things fascism tried to erase: art, friendship, jokes, rituals, language, memory.

Not as escapism but as resistance. As proof they were still human.

Joy isn’t frivolous under fascism. It’s strategic.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Today is Pentecost when the Holy Spirit comes to lead the church forward. Five years ago I was watching BLM protests; today I am watching anti-ICE protests. What do you think God is communicating about justice?

This seems like a great day to remind Bluesky that Stephen Miller lived four doors down from me freshman year

And our student council person asked him (and everyone) to sign a birthday card for our dorm’s janitor

And he threw a tantrum and wrote an op-ed about not socializing with “the help.”

Whale Pass has the unlikely distinction of being the nation’s first and only school offering Songahm Taekwondo as a school sport. And as the first ATA Martial Arts certified taekwondo dojo in Alaska, the students have literally put Alaska on the taekwondo world’s map.
A taekwondo class in rural Alaska may save the community’s school
Whale Pass doesn’t have a grocery store, but it does have Alaska’s only certified Songahm Taekwondo dojo. That could be key to drawing more students.

Remember when Trump claimed the Biden administration wasn’t doing enough to help North Carolina recover from Hurricane Helene?

Well, his administration just denied the state’s request for continued FEMA relief assistance.

This hypocrisy isn’t just staggering. It’s cruel.

So many of us are struggling to stay positive right now. But you don’t have to fix everything, just start small.
Sow love where you are. Help one person, care for one thing. 🌱
Love is a powerful place to start.
If enough of us plant it, maybe we’ll grow a more beautiful world. ❤️

While Stephen Miller publishes the faces of the judges that struck down Trump’s unlawful tariffs, his own goons in ICE refuse to show theirs out of fear of being publicly identified.

If our judges are brave enough to face MAGA threats with their faces showing, ICE should not hide behind masks.

These legislators should be forced to vote on each Commandment separately—not an omnibus package—& no one should be allowed to vote for a Commandment they've violated lest they violate the Third Commandment. Or: they should respect the Establishment Clause & get back to work.
Texas will require public school classrooms to display Ten Commandments under bill nearing passage

It’s hard to take up space. We get told to make ourselves small, to humble ourselves into insecurity. You are here. In your space, taking up space and you have every right to be there.

Don't let anyone who gains from your silence hold you back. You're here. What are they gonna do about it?

Yes this is a huge problem for workers. Let’s not pretend this only applies to low-wage workers. THIS is why I worked four per diem professional chaplain jobs at once to pay rent. Hospitals and hospices do this to nurses, social workers, and chaplains .
“For millions of American low-wage workers today, the problem is not overwork—it’s underwork,” Adelle Waldman writes:
