"As many non-Indigenous people taking the tour told APTN News, the point is not guilt, but connection and finding the courage, like Bryce, to speak the truth."

A great write up of an important memorial event to the Residential School era. #indigenous #cdnpoli

Beautiful write up and it brings up many emotions of anger, resentment, disappointment ... but also community, acceptance, hope ... Chi-Meegwetch for this perspective of these commemorations. Now I have to visit the tour myself some day.

Not able to attend any events this year but the commemorations for today is something that families like mine are reminded of regularly every day of the year. Both my parents are survivors of the Residential School System. #indigenous #firstnations

Ice roads are a sure sign of global warming. I used to work on them 30 years ago on James Bay from my home in Attawapiskat and back then the season went from December to March. In my dad's time it was even longer. Now it lasts about one month for heavy vehicles. #indigenous #climate #firstnations

Ice roads are a lifeline for First Nations. As Canada warms, they’re disappearing.

Indigenous peoples are navigating the slow collapse of winter roads — and an even slower pace of help.

I think the machete is a metaphor for how you like to 'cut down to the core of the stories you write' .... or it might mean you'd make a great character in a Tarantino movie.

Tax the rich .... the US and Canada once taxed the hell out of the wealthy and it corresponded to the growth of these countries. Once that stopped, these countries began to decline. The unrestrained freedom of the ultra wealthy directly corresponds to the health of a country.

Always love Carlin and still do ... he kept the world and especially Americans laser focused on the issues that mattered and made them actually think.

They should install a generator to his grave because he's probably spinning so fast right now he could power a small city.

Always love these nutjobs ... they hide behind masks and hide their identity because they know what they are doing and following is wrong and no one will accept them. If they are so devote in their beliefs, why hide their true identities?

Really makes you wonder why we keep referring it to a democracy when people announce an emergency, little to nothing happens ... but when industry says there's an emergency, everything gets fast tracked to fix things.
xavierkataquapit.bsky.social
So instead of leaving it for the enjoyment of all the people of Ontario, they'll sell it privately to the wealthiest people (without it mattering if they are Ontarian, or even Canadian). Why do we keep referring it to a democracy again?

Instead of looking at the world as being better or worse with one culture or another .... I try to imagine what the world would be like if we all just lived in harmony instead. Imagine North American if we had all just cooperated, helped each other and shared the wealth from the start.

When politicians allow the system to be rigged in favour of employers, workers have no choice but to resist. Unions can’t be expected to bow to unjust laws — and the way the Liberals have abused section 107 is clearly unjust.
