Boxes and boxes of X-Men and X-adjacent comics. Collecting since 1986, chasing all the X-books - getting close to the finish line. Favs are both Wolverines, Storm, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde. Also weird 80’s indie comics. Also cooking/recipe shares.

That’s hilarious! Obviously we were meant to cross movie paths under the blue sky tonight!

I went to the rerelease of The Dark Crystal few years ago, and it was about as magical and weird as I thought it might be.

Added bonus: my pre-teen daughter didn’t quite get it, but at home kept making the (Chamberlain) Hhhhmmmmm? sound at me in pretty much every situation for a couple weeks

Now this one I would def watch!

These are my X-Men, who are sometimes overlooked by others. And love the costumes, only cause they imprinted on my newly emerged comic reading self

1,000 pts to you, that’s awesome! A screening of The Goonies must have been amazing

Bet you hadn’t thought about that movie in a long time. Neither had I!

Truth be told, I got there from Kindergarten Cop, then Twins, then… Momma.

I’ve never done a project like that, but (badly) painted just enough models and miniatures in middle and high school to really appreciate your attention to detail.

Wow, this is looking fantastic. It has been fun following along.

Pizza night tonight: turkey pepperoni, red onion, jalapeño and garlic

After 8-10? times making+taking notes with the crust recipe, officially promised myself I’d stop fiddling with ingredients, proof, prep, bake. Kind of stumbled my way here, hope it still works the next time!

Photo of a pizza with toppings of turkey pepperoni, jalapeño, red onion and garlic. Crust is mostly golden brown, has some dry pizza seasoning sprinkled on it. Cheese is melted+crusty brown, toppings are well cooked (veggies a little overdone?); topped with chopped fresh cilantro

Side note 2: I only have one piece of comic Original Art. It’s a page from Eight Billion Genies #3 (page 4). Which is such an incredible series.

Got it because it has Jim Morrison, Ernest Hemingway and Dorothy Parker having drinks together at a bar.

Side note: the podcast focuses mostly on collecting original screen uses movie/comic props, so the beginning has a short update on prop stuff.

Both hosts work in Hollywood. One worked on Seinfeld and Veep, among others. The other is a main show runner for the House of the Dragon.

Very highly recommend The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of podcast overall, and specifically this episode about collecting original comic art.

If you’re wondering about qualifications, one of the hosts has the OA cover (yes, the cover!) for Giant Size X-Men #1. And a few others.

This is my go-to for meatloaf, and if I have bread I’ll do the meatloaf sandwich. Such a great recipe!

My only question: who did they cast for the saxophone solo scene?

Just for fun, somewhere along the way I picked up this hologram thank you Marvel sent to comic shops for selling those 7M copies of 1991 X-Men #1.

There’s I think? supposed to be a good hologram too

Ha, I recently finished my Claremont Run read through and just decided to finish off the UXM run while alternating adjectiveless X-Men #1 to #207

I started reading/collecting X-Men with #210 so when anyone mentions the X-Men to me this is who I picture, out of reflex. They are awesome. Bring Longshot back!
