22. Remember the flu waves in 2020/21?
No, because they didn't happen, despite not acting against airborne transmission.
The rebound wave in 2022 could have been mitigated by ramping up vax, masks, clean air, but no, that's not "normal".
There's no humane sick pay either.

from what I see online, Marylanders are shrugging off Trone's campaign for his old seat. and that's fine. if I lived there, I would tell my neighbors that at least we know a few things he stands strong on whereas the incumbent is one of the least relevant Dems in the House. but I don't, so whatever

To lose one indictment, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose a second looks like carelessness.

A third, though?!

planes fly both ways, we'll use this fleet to bring them back
DHS inks contract to create its own fleet of 737 jets for deportations
The agency will spend nearly $140 million to buy the planes, funding that comes from a massive budget increase for immigration enforcement approved by Congress.

omg. Kat Abughazaleh just posted that if she's elected, she'll swear in on a copy of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower.

If you were elected to public office (never mind whether you'd ever actually run), what book would you swear in on?

Y'all the latest episode of the #Kilauea #eruption just went CRAZY. It looks like pressure built up enough to explode out the ground around the two existing vents (first few seconds), leading to a massive surge in lava fountaining.🌋🤯

Privacy, antitrust, and algorithmic justice laws would do a lot more to protect kids than age verification, but lawmakers are always looking for the "easy fix" so they can say they protected kids without actually doing anything to address the harmful surveillance capitalist biz model of Big Tech

I’m kind of new to the Democrats, but I thought we were FOR respecting the legal process, and also that we were AGAINST political corruption. And that it was especially important to hold to these principles at this time.

But I guess there’s some insider memo I didn’t get that would set me straight?

obviously they’ve thought of this and that’s why they’re trying to force white women to have more babies but I’m sorry mate that’s just not gonna happen, there are plenty of totalitarian states on earth and none of them in the modern era has succeeded in producing many babies by social coercion

immigration is literally the only thing that can save the Republican Party bc without immigrants, small rural towns will disappear in the population crash and cities will get even bigger and more expensive which means more pressure for affordability and more Mamdani-style candidates

has Gallego apologized to Rosa DeLauro?
December 1, 2025 at 5:13 PM
if i could drive home one fact about congress that is relevant to the ongoing shutdown it is this: the United States Senate does not give a flying fuck about the House. if they bother to think about the House at all, it is with utter disdain. it might as well be the Porto Alegre Ke$ha fan club
