Remember right in the middle of the whole “Macs are the greatest” era we found out that the worst security issue for Windows machines was QuickTime, a terrible and ubiquitous video app made by Apple?
Good Times

Sorry I’ve been absent from the 🌿 reading. It’s been a hard week. We had to put the family cat down after 20 years. My daughter was 7 when we got Gizmo. She spent her first 10 a barn cat and hunter in Whatcom Co and her last 10 as a cat of leisure in apartments in Seattle.
Rest easy gizmo

Does anyone know of an app that will look at a set of photos on my computer and categorize them into folders based on what's in the photo? Seems like one of the very few times I'd like to use AI but I also dont want to upload them somewhere. I want it local and private.
Ideas?

Photos of my cargo bike loaded up from the time I moved my aunt into a new apartment using only my bike (except for her bed and her antique china cabinet. It took 10 trips but the looks I got with the chair on it made it worth it. LOL

Whitman was 37 when he wrote Leaves of Grass and he has the wide eyed optimism and sense of wonder of an 18yo college freshman that just took their first meditation class at the student union. 🌿

The concept of 'keeping an existing customer is cheaper than getting a new one' is a foreign concept to Comcast. My wife opened a 2nd location for her dance studio. The 1st one pays $240 for Internet. The new one will pay $100. I tried to downgrade the 1st one and they wont let me.

My wife saw Maye and immediately started calling him “Juice Box” because he looks 11.

It’s Song for Occupations Day!!!

Here’s a little bit of analysis to help.

Remember in the 1855 edition the poems didn’t actually have names yet so your book might not call them out like that . :-) 🌿

Looking into Taijijian (tai chi with a prop sword) and Iaido (Japanese kata-based martial art with a sword) as a more meditative addition to my workout routine but also feeling like I need to be careful NOT to stray into the “weird old white guy with the Asia fetish” territory. It’s a tightrope.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

“If you think a project schedule is something you build once to get your funding, you aren’t a project manager, you are a con man.”
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

“For the love of all that’s holy, what is with you people and the dependent clauses?”
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

“It doesn’t have to be good. It just has to be finished.”

Smartsheet laid off a ton of people this week and LinkedIn is absolutely AWASH with Smartsheet people that DIDNT LOSE THEIR JOBS lamenting how hard it was FOR THEM to say goodbye.
Their “friends” lost their jobs but it’s about them having to still have a job and how hard that is.

What the fuck?!

Strive to be as curious about the world around you as your cats are about when you clean their litter box.

I read something somewhere that suggested that in Song of Myself "Houses and Rooms" symbolize society and social groups and "perfumes" symbolize people.
Something to think about.

How are we doing with old Walt today?

Once I got the hang of how to read it from the recording I posted I had a better time working through it.

It's been said that it's best to read it straight through but my ADHD doesn't support that very well. :-)

Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)
