If Republicans want to talk about long-term fixes to ACA affordability, Democrats are ready.

Hi, Mr. Schumer, I’m a concerned English speaker looking in from Japan. So what the fuck was your 40-day shutdown for, if you appointed 8 fall guys to end it without getting anything in return? Any way that your party base can protest this, given none of those 8 are up for re-election?
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

A fundamental mystery I’ve never understood is why so many people seem to be afraid of clowns, but virtually nobody seems to be afraid of drag queens except me, despite their similarly (and I’d argue more) exaggerated uncanny make-up and behavior.

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

It’s not that we didn’t want the shutdown to end, it’s the fact that millions of people suffered throughout this shutdown and it was for nothing. That’s the most upsetting part.

Reminder: The word “queer” is a slur against all sexual minorities that invalidates us for being different. Furthermore, the same offence is wielded within LGBT spaces to perpetuate the same hate towards sexual minorities who want to live normal lives as they are, not turn themselves into freaks.

I’ve been thinking: In fiction that isn’t explicitly about asexuality, what practical difference is there between asexual representation and two main characters having a friendship? Close friendship and fondness is separate from romantic or sexual attraction for nearly everyone, I’d say.

It pains me to know that no three Japanese words could ever convey the viscerally strong emotion and powerful blow of the three English words “go fuck yourself”.
