Super disappointed. This was a very useful tool. Hoping someone builds a replacement!

This labeler will be shutting down. We will first be unlabeling everyone who is labeled and then will cease to operate. As the unlabeling operation will take an unknown amount of time, we are not setting a specific timeline other than as soon as possible.

The COO of bluesky, Rose, is following the heritage foundation account on bluesky.
soyweiser.bsky.social
She is the COO en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_o... of bsky. This is worrying because after the 'we are turning waffles into an anti-trans thing' by the CEO the CEO started to follow a transphobe. Shows a pattern.

Wonder when we find out one of them follows the discovery institute.

Electric bicycles, and shared electric bicycles in particular, are a revolutionary transportation technology. Forward-looking cities should be building out the infrastructure necessary to make cycling safe and convenient for everyone who wants to do it.

i recently got a great deal on a barely used folding ebike and i have to say it has revolutionized my train travel. i can get from my front door to the amtrak station in a little less than 5 minutes!!!

A great way to turn the temp down here as @jay.bsky.team @pfrazee.com and @aaron.bsky.team want would be to stop communicating site policies and practices with individual users or on their timelines and hire a comms person who is a professional communicator to do all the front facing interaction.

Like I'm sorry, but the AI weirdos have DELIBERATELY created this confusion 100% so they can capitalize on the assumptions people who don't understand the difference will make.

This was the endgame of all the AI bros! no one knowing the difference!

Sorry they created this mess BUT THEY DID!
a7h13f.com
Huge part of the issue right here. Blue Sky team posting through it with takes that read as contradictory or incompatible, at best, and openly combative to the concerned userbase, at worst. This site is in desperate need of a comms person who can give the team lessons in unified messaging.

"we don't use your data for training AI, we just feed it to these other bozos who we don't even even provide any input on for the quality of their model or tuning for our site"

IT'S BEYOND OPTICS AT THIS POINT. HOW ARE THERE MORE RAKES

Schrodinger's Moderation: "Mods only have 30s to look at posts, so errors happen." AND "AI makes moderation decisions, and we're not responsible for the model"

So. Where does the buck stop again?

Automation labeling individuals with prosthetics as “adult content” needs to be understood as ableism, full stop
aaron.bsky.team
It's an automated system, so unfortunately this is an error that gets made surprisingly often with prosthetics.

And we call this;

"Shooting yourself in the foot"

God I cannot emphasize this enough-

Hire a PR firm.

They will likely immediately tell you to backtrack on everything you've said and done, and tell you to backtrack on your guidelines, because at this point, that is the ONLY way to salvage this.
majaoeberg.bsky.social
I do find it hilarious how they immediately backtracked after this and deleted the comment
a member of bluesky saying "Yeh" in response to the above post, with a journalist responding asking to get their exact quote over the thread in which the bluesky member responds with "what" and the journalist then rephrasing the question only for the bluesky member to delete the entire thread

all discourse aside, there is one machine with consciousness. it's printers. they are alive and conscious and they hate you and they'd take your arm clean off if you let them. never trust a printer.

Andreessen Horowitz have made an offer for Bluesky, haven’t they? That’s why we’re seeing what we’re seeing?
a7h13f.com
That's where I'm at. Regardless of where you stand on the validity of the ban it clearly shows that the protocol isn't nearly as open as Jay and the team make it out to be. If it was always about the open protocol, why are moderation actions like this so hard to decouple?

It basically make atproto non viable right? Like federate all you want, put in all the independent work you want, the bluesky admins still have final say over your moderation.

To get away from that you have to put in a level of money and labor that you could just host your own site at that point.

i think it’s actually completely okay to say an algorithm is not a real person
hailey @hailey.at
if you're writing a sentence that sounds like eugenics but you go "oh that's fine to say because it's not a real person" (whatever that means) you may want to consider what made you okay with saying that
