Very interesting read. About halfway through, I realised it was published in 1908!

I'm sorry, I missed this post! I appreciate the kind words.

If you know any libraries that can use this map, they are more than welcome to use and share it.

This is an earlier version where the gradient was applied to the whole feature layer. I liked it, but the Grand Canyon didn't look so grand.

I have used many of these ArcGIS Pro/AGOL tutorials in my undergrad classes. Unfortunately, I don't know of anything similar for QGIS.

I had at least one template for each page size and orientation. I created a symbology library of sorts to standardize repetitive features. I had templates for different scenarios or themes. It just depended on what the client wanted to show in the deliverables.

BTW, it took years to make them.

We created a lot of quick maps during the #30DayMapChallenge! When I was a GIS environmental consultant, I created templates for most of my maps. There was very little time for cartographic flair, so I did what I could via trial and error. This was before I took any carto classes.

Something about AI doing the work of historians from the other website. The usual hammer in search of a nail.

I revisited the Long Night map I made from the #30DayMapChallenge and expanded it into a poster. Changing the size of a map never goes as smoothly as I think it should. 😂

Actually, now it looks decent in the preview but not as good in the full-size version. lol
