These are the kinds of wins I hope to hold onto when things seem bleak. Very proud of the work that went into this and heartened by the positive impact it will have on the lives of women incarcerated in Missouri.
MO Appleseed, with work from students in SLU Law's Grassroots Advocacy class, advocated for the establishment of a prison nursery, leading to the passage of SB 638 in 2022. This Feb. a nursery will open at the women's prison in Vandalia. missouriappleseed.org/establishing...
