Israel just shot up a university in Palestine, wounding students.

Just thought you should know.

Remember when they told us they were only interested in removing (ie censoring) books that are “obscene” and “harmful” to children?

They lied. 😑
PEN America condemns educational censorship at Texas A&M after a professor is told not to teach Plato, a foundational thinker in the study of Western philosophy, merely because his writings discuss questions about love, gender, and human identity. pen.org/press-releas... #censorship #highereducation
Plato Has Been Censored; What Next?

is this it? is her death going to be the thing that finally fractions the country apart?
I think everyone is thinking the same thing right now that I don't want to say but like, if this is it, and they are SO vehemently defending something that is SO starkly wrong, I don't know
Never mind that this isn’t the definition of doxing in the first place, but you can’t dox a federal employee. If you’re a public servant, your identity isn’t “hidden.” It’s on public records. People can access those public records.

The word “doxing”—and yes, since there’s anti-doxing laws, I guess you could say in a legal sense—means to reveal private information. Like publishing a home address or phone number. Vance and others are trying to redefine it to limit scrutiny into public records.

COALITION WARSHIP ARCHER - No -- well, not quite. The Moralintern never *intends* to violate another nation's sovereignty. That would be a serious violation of international law...

I’d be more specific, in fact: we are seeing different FORMS of force shown when ICE is acting in “coming after a presumed immigrant” mode vs “freaking out at any show of resistance or protest” mode.

Neither is more justifiable than the other necessarily.
i think it is ok to reiterate that the victim as a us citizen. yes, noncitizens are equally entitled to human rights. but also, it's important to illustrate how ice isn't about immigration at all

ICE is about immigration. it exists as a clear consequence of the bond between US immigration and its politics of race, it is inseparable from the project of the US empire. it's also about the fash state, it's also about making brownshirts 2.0, but that doesn't mean it's not about immigration

The woman killed by ICE today was a poet. She won the 2020 Academy of American Poets, University & College Poetry Prize at Old Dominion University.

(And this is Renee from confirmed socials- a photo of a different woman with red lipstick is going around, but that was a classmate.)

As years go by I increasingly believe conservatism is all projection. Everything they accuse their enemies of doing is what they want to do, with the justification that it's somehow self-defense. And that's how the scum who harped for years about jackbooted feds persecuting them kill people for ICE.

Every second the murderer is not arrested is another second for feds to hide him in a place that would create a jurisdictional fight. He's on video killing a person. You have to arrest this guy an hour ago, but you might still have time now.

Do not let the failures of prosecution post January 6th happen again. Every second you do not charge this person is a second the massive propaganda apparatus around the federal government will use to create a fog of lies to get him off. Arrest him immediately for killing an American citizen.

Abolish and prosecute ICE. They did a murder in broad daylight today. Imagine what they're doing in the closed facilities we're somehow not even allowed to see.

I recommend all artists to just completely leave that platform.

it can’t be independently verified (by the NYT) because they have been explicitly denied permission to use the video by the person who took it for being an untrustworthy news org and for publishing anti-trans disinformation
the nyt says that no version of events in minneapolis can be "verified independently." but that's not true! there are multiple videos proving that the ICE version of events is a total lie. maybe the nyt can, y'know, watch one of them? www.nytimes.com/live/2026/01...

It's so fucking convenient that they get to "fear for their lives" anytime they want to absolve themselves of anything and when we actually fear for our lives because of them and do anything a scared person would do it's justification for our death.

They don't want to though. Winning, progressing, they don't want these things, they just want to maintain the current status quo, no improvement, no repercussions, just an eternal "now" that keeps careening down towards the right because nothing is done
If Democrats can't win on "the administration is full of and covering for kiddie rapers and they're using your tax money to invade Venezuela and pay fat Nazis to shoot your neighbors" then GET THE FUCK OUT OF POLITICS

love how citizens have to police themselves at every turn in the tiniest possible ways but a guy can be captured from 5 different angles in media res murdering somebody and everyone has to scream and demand that he ever face consequences
Every person on Bluesky should know:
* Every post on Bluesky is PUBLIC forever
* Every post on Bluesky is archived by ICE, NSA, and many other agencies
* Even if you delete a post, it’s already been captured
* Judges don’t care if you were “kidding” or being ironic

Democrats need to understand that they can just say “It’s insane to threaten Greenland” and “I don’t think ICE should murder Americans in the street” and you don’t need to pretend to link it to the affordability crisis.

what this should make clear to everyone in this country is that it does not matter who you are, there's no "it could never happen to me"

you can be a white woman who drives around with stuffed animals in her car, and they will still kill you in cold blood and call you a domestic terrorist
The murdered woman's glove compartment is filled with stuffed animals.
