Not only is the NutrInform battery (made in 🇮🇹 as an ‘alternative’ to the #Nutriscore) nowhere to be seen in Italian supermarkets (apart from a few Ferrero products 🤨), but as the programme shows, very complex and not easy to understand!

🤔 This vote is disappointing and makes little sense from a consumer perspective. Our data speaks for itself: almost 70% of EU consumers understand those meaty-names as long as products are clearly labelled "vegan" or "vegetarian".

Heute ist Übergabetag beim Wissenschaftlichen Beirat (WBAE): Um 13:30 Uhr übergeben wir das neue Gutachten zum Thema „Mehr Auswahl am gemeinsamen Tisch: Alternativprodukte zu tierischen Lebensmitteln als Beitrag zu einer nachhaltigeren Ernährung“ an Bundesminister Rainer.
Wenn wir Dienstag um 16 Uhr das Gutachten des WBAE vorstellen, werden wir über das Thema Bezeichnungen sprechen. Spoiler: Die Leitsätze der DLMBK finden wir sinnvoll, sie sind viel differenzierter und praxisnäher als diese neuen Vorschläge der EU:
