Meta deemed my books of "of no economic value" and used them to train their AI. Perhaps they are of no value to someone of Zuck's stature but they pay annual royalties that allowed my first child to attend college and will, I hope, allow my second to do the same.

I think this is a brilliant framing of this issue. If the government can send people to a third world country to a lifetime of involuntary servitude, that is slavery. Query whether this meets the “jurisdiction” requirement of the 13th Amendment (the officials sending them are!)

I think this is a brilliant framing of this issue. If the government can send people to a third world country to a lifetime of involuntary servitude, that is slavery. Query whether this meets the “jurisdiction” requirement of the 13th Amendment (the officials sending them are!)
