Almost done adding this feature, and I already know that I'm going to have to learn a lot about balancing a game.

Should be interesting. But might also be torture, because I feel like there's math involved.

I've been really leaning more towards having a cartoony art style for my games lately. Really helps that I'm enjoying drawing in that style, even though I haven't quite gotten used to it yet.

Something to think about as I work on the next big feature for this game.

So, instead of watching a movie the other night, I made a game.

A roguelike deckbuilder management game...? Yes, that is what we'll call it.

Still want to add upgrades for cards (among other things), but it's been a fun two days.

I've been coding all day to get this game to a state where I can actually test it.

So after I picked myself back up after this morning's realization, I got a good amount of stuff done. Did a lot of thinking and brainstorming, and also made myself some game dev-related tools in Godot.

Gonna treat myself to Chinese food and watch a movie or something.

I think I shot myself in the foot by adding art too early.

Now that it looks cool, changing anything feels like pulling teeth.

Having a guide with all of the dimensions and shapes for all of the nodes in a Godot GUI theme.

I am so tired, but I really wanted to implement at least one of the ideas that made me go on an arting frenzy today.

It's just a background for the game (with another version for shell menus), but it came out just the way I wanted, and that makes me happy.

I've spent the entire day rebuilding this game in Godot 4.5 and I'm over it. I haven't even gotten this new version working because I changed crap during the transcription. Ugh!

Okay, one thing I do like about using VS Code with Godot is that it actually treats regions like links in the code map thingie. So I can actually click to where I want to go instead of squinting and guessing. Yay!
