Today is #EqualPayDay, a reminder of the gender pay gap.

In 2024, women were paid 18% less than men per hour, on average. Black & Hispanic women experience even larger pay gaps.

The Trump admin's recent actions will worsen this gap and harm women & workers of color.

NCES also collects data on school safety issues - school resource officers, number of crimes, etc. Devastating loss.
We are seeing posts that the NCES offices have been gutted, including IPEDS. If you don't know anything about education data, NCES is the main statistical office, and IPEDS is critical data for understanding our nation's educational system. In other words, 🤬

One more reason a strong NOAA matters!
The NWS Storm Prediction Center says the DC region has a 15% chance of severe thunderstorms within 25 miles of any given location on Wednesday next week.

While 15% may sound low, it’s somewhat significant for a forecast 5 days away.
