The 2024 solicitation requires that applicants "have completed no more than one academic year (according to institution's academic calendar) while enrolled in a graduate degree program," which allowed graduate students at the beginning of their second year to apply.

The new NSF GRFP solicitation is up as of today, and it looks like second year graduate students may no longer be eligible...

The 2025 solicitation states that applicants must "have completed less than one academic year in a graduate degree program"

TIL that for some people with irreparably damaged corneas, you can pull one of their teeth, drill a hole in it, install an artificial lens, sew it into their cheek (so tissue attaches), then pull it out and stick it in their damaged eye, and ... it works fine!?! www.nbcboston.com/news/health/...

It's not just experts—most American voters agree with the Endangerment finding, and are in overwhelming support of regulating greenhouse gas emissions.
