Rob Thompson watches Dave Roberts fuck up and, not wanting to be outdone as a fuckup, calls for a bunt with a man on second and no one out. Jesus H. Christ.

Ha! My impression is that Baptist, Methodist, and Church of Christ churches default to juice, but Orthodox, Catholic, Episcopal, and Lutheran churches default to wine.

Obviously, that's just my experience and everyone is different. Plenty of sober people at my church only take the bread, or will intict the bread in the wine so they don't really taste it.

I eventually decided to drink the wine with communion and am always deeply moved by it, because Christ's grace is able to turn draining drink that symbolized my worst impulses and that pushed me far from God and others into a nourishing sacrament that brings me closer to Him and others.

Red wine was a specific vice for me when I drank. I was conflicted about what to do for a while when I started going to church (I didn't take communion for a while for wine reasons + other reasons), even though "whatever you think is best" is fully acceptable at my church and at most, I assume.

I think this brain is more Silicon Valley poisoned specifically. This is a milder version of the "efficiency" techbro brainrot that makes CEOs say things like "no book should be longer than a blog poster" and "podcasts on 3x speed are more efficient than reading"

i'm seeing a lot of sober writing from professional analysts suggesting the 2025 mets were a flawed team that overperformed preseason expectations. i urge mets fans to reject this. you ARE cursed by god. things will NEVER get better. the walls are closing in, you can't breathe, its getting so cold-

This is doing numbers on social media right now and it's so depressing how people truly yearn for this shit and want to preserve that feeling indefinitely like a mausoleum of false memories.

Trespasses in my adult Episcopal life. Grew up Southern Baptist so we basically never said it, but I *think* the few times it came up it was still trespasses, although sins sounds a little familiar to me.

Debts, though. That's a new one for me!

I think my favorite part of loneliness/"how do I meet people" discourse is when I suggest joining a club or social group like the Rotary or whatever and people are like "those are full of old people" like okay but old people are people too. You could spend time with old people.
