So...I've tried to explain to my students why they aren't allowed to use genAI in MY class (even though the university seems to be encouraging them to)

I've written this document to try to explain WHY it's a bad idea rather than just forbidden fruit.

8/ The problem with 'authenticity' as a metric however is that I don't think we're as good at detecting it as we think we are.

Authenticity has, like any other marker, become a series of aesthetic, stylistic and directorial markers that can and are being deliberately curated for us.
