WT heck @npr.org and @steveinskeep.bsky.social !? “Assuming there is another Administration” just thrown in a question to Sen Klobuchar as an aside?

Thank you @chmnmendelson.bsky.social!
We counted to 30 and our law stands.
NEWS: the DC Council has proclaimed that the “D.C. Income and Franchise Tax Conformity and Revision Temporary Amendment Act of 2025” is now officially law (L26-89), effective through Sept. 25, 2026! Regardless of how the Senate votes today, the 30-day review period ended Feb. 11!

I spent the morning at the DOJ looking at the unredacted Epstein files. Here are my initial thoughts and what I’ve found, so far.
Rep. Stansbury: I viewed the unredacted Esptein files earlier today

I'm uninstalling my RING today.

Dystopia notwithstanding, the Ring commercial about their surveillance finding lost pets makes no sense.

Of the ~10M pets lost annually, their service finds ~500. They want Americans to commit privacy suicide for a .005% success rate???

Yeah, no thanks. Cancelling.

Still important to make those calls to protect DC and our budget!!
The bill in the Senate this week that will attempt to interfere in DC's tax code is chaotic, bad, and should get voted down — but don't take our word for it.

Here's a running thread of the people and organizations who want Senators to VOTE NO on S.J. Res102: 🧵

Following on Bad Bunny’ super performance: highly recommend the book “How to Hide an Empire”. Paradigm-shifting read for me.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

With my fellow Washingtonians in spirit! The hollowing out of the Post is a choice not a necessity for multi-billionaire Bezos.
Happening now: Hundreds of people are outside the headquarters of @washingtonpost.com in solidarity with @postguild.bsky.social and the 300 workers and journalists Jeff Bezos has fired.

VICTORY: After thousands of locals protested, called, and gave public comments, a company halted the sale of a Virginia warehouse to DHS to be used for immigrant detention.

DHS wants to buy 23 warehouses nationwide. Resist all of them.

The company, Jim Pattison Developments, put out a statement Friday afternoon saying the deal would not proceed.

There has to be an investigation into the many individuals who committed heinous crimes alongside Epstein.

There should be a special prosecutor, or a congressional investigation, that looks into the crimes and the ongoing cover-up. It has to happen.

happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

Biometric locks for phones aren’t just convenient for you, they are convenient for the cops.

Predicting that this week we’ll hear more conciliatory words from the Administration regarding Minnesota (since they’re starting to realize that ICE has become politically toxic) but everyone outside of Minnesota needs to know that nothing on the ground has changed.

What do these corporations have in common?

-Amazon
-AT&T
-Home Depot
-Microsoft
-Palantir

They all reaped billions in tax breaks from Trump's Big Ugly Bill — and are actively collaborating with ICE's deportation machine.

Always follow the money.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.
