Magazine Sans was designed in the 60s, as part of a typographic revival that began in 1946 with the release of ГОСТ 3489 «Шрифты типографские» - Government Standard 3489 "Fonts, Typographical"

The reset was necessary because a lot of the printing houses had their tools melted down for the war.

On June 13, amid an ongoing genocidal war in Gaza, Israel initiated a major attack on Iran’s military infrastructure and civilian sites in its capital of Tehran and various other parts of the country. Iran responded with drone and missile attacks, indefinitely suspending any nuclear negotiations. As of this writing, an unprecedented war is unfolding between the two countries, resulting in the killing and injuring of mostly civilians, many of whom are women and children. Many Iranian women’s rights advocates and civil society groups had long feared such an escalation and its potential negative consequences—particularly for the grassroots-driven demands for radical change discussed in this MERIP article. Within hours of the onset of the war, Iranian Feminist and Equality Activists issued a statement in Persian titled, “No to War, No to the Islamic Republic,” publicly condemning all violence and conflict, and “calling on all Iranians to recommit to the principles of Woman, Life, Freedom.” On June 16, the Iran Writers Association similarly issued a statement, condemning “Israel, which has been killing the people of Gaza for months and forcing the survivors to die of famine and starvation,” and “has now extended its war-mongering and aggression to the people of Iran.” The statement warns that the achievements of the post-Jina movement risk being erased in the wake of this aggression and that, in its aftermath, extreme nationalism, radicalism and neo-fascism could take root. I feel like there should be a good, readable, book on why the "cute walkable downtown" is so tough. There's also just an astronomically high failure rate for retail/restaurants. Even if you want to be a good landlord, you run the risk of dealing with the salmonella deli.

Absolutely. Also, commercial loans to property owners will require a rent floor (arguably so the owner won't default on their loan). But their banks often literally won't allow them to drop their rent low enough to get a "mom & pop" shop

Post to the subreddit r/AskHistorians: What was navigation like for vehicle drivers in the United States before the internet and GPS? Before GPS devices and smartphones/cellular internet networks were a thing (Garmin company was founded 1989), millions of Americans were already getting around driving without the use of those inventions. How did they navigate? Did everyone need stacks of maps? Were drivers frequently lost? Did everyone have to understand the interstate system and use intuition to guide them? How burdensome was driving before GPS? Did drivers pay people to calculate an optimal route for them?

I guess the admin thinks international students will just take the same undocumented pathway to the US as other folks, to become another type of contingent workforce? I don't think education functions like a chicken separating plant, but it's pretty clear they want it to go that way.
