Decades before President Trump canceled $400 million in funding for Columbia University, he tried to sell property to the school — for $400 million.
Decades Ago, Columbia Refused to Pay Trump $400 Million. Note That Number.
A quarter century ago, the university was looking to expand. It considered, and rejected, property owned by Donald Trump. He did not forget it.

Another scandal. Profit before people.
A gobsmacking story. Water companies let toxic waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. The sewage sludge is then spread, untested, on farmland, potentially poisoning vast areas, entire ecosystems and the people (you and me) eating the food.

Donald Trump has reportedly spent $18 million worth of taxpayer money to play golf since his inauguration.

This is happening as he slashes the federal workforce, guts funding for vital programs, and tees up major cuts to Medicaid to pay for more tax cuts for the rich.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.

March 14 is a striking date in scientific history: it marks the birth of Albert Einstein in 1879 and the death of Stephen Hawking in 2018. Their legacies remind us of the power of the human mind, and that science is the gateway to understanding the universe. #HumanistHeritage

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?
