In "Mere Christianity," C.S. Lewis asks if evil is God's will. “If it is,” he begins, “He is a strange God, you will say: and if it is not, how can anything happen contrary to the will of a being with absolute power?” I wrote about this here. ponderingprinciples.com/2025/02/05/t...

Trump’s ‘truly bizarre’ visit to Mt. Vernon
The 45th president — no student of history — marveled at the first president's failure to name his historic compound after himself.

How Trump or his reps have characterized his relationship w/Epstein:
“A lot of fun to be with”
“No formal relationship”
“They did not socialize”
A business acquaintance
“There was no relationship”
“I was not a fan of his”
But our @nytimes.com report reveals an intense, complicated friendship. 🧵

Social conservatives are supposedly worried about sports gambling, online porn, and legal marijuana.

This, of course, brings us to Trump, whose agenda includes a broader tolerance for industries that profit from addiction, distraction, and dopamine hits. thehill.com/opinion/5655...

Military lawyer swiftly fired from immigration bench after defying Trump deportation push
A U.S. Army Reserve lawyer detailed as a federal immigration judge has been fired barely a month into the job after granting asylum at a high rate out of step with the Trump administration’s mass deportation goals.

Rightwing extremists began planning for violence almost immediately.

The US Administration has banned Americans from *adopting babies* from much of the African continent.

Adopting.

Babies.

What trait do those babies have that, when they grow up as fully American adults, would make them a threat to our country in any form?
On that last post: I genuinely cannot think of any good-faith reason to bar international adoptions from those 39 countries. Under this new ban, consulates will refuse adoption visas for any baby from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nigeria, or any of the 39 other countries.
