I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

Can’t post much about the…[waves arms vaguely]…situation but I find more hope than I have in ages in this reminder of the power of “I would prefer not to”
fascism is stopped when enough people say one of two things: 1) "nah, I'm not doing that" 2) "nah, you're not doing that"
a lot of people want to imagine how they'll say the second thing, but you should *really* start practicing the first one
