Do you know what happens when graduate student funding is cut? Often, it means we ALL miss out on their new, promising ideas bc the project doesn’t go forward.
Getting a grant like this is incredible! I’m so sorry this happened to you, Megan. Sorry for all of us who could have benefited.

This is who was fired from the union workforce at the Department of Education yesterday. Every single number is a person who served the nation and whose life was wrongly disrupted. That's the first tragedy, but it's clearly not the only one.

i am once again saying that if you allow polling to define rights, you don't have any real rights at all
the problem with the "trans sports participation is a loser / 80-20 issue" framing is that it ignores how it got that way. it didn't just happen out of nowhere. It's been a 5+ year campaign by Republicans to make it an 80-20 issue, and noone fought back.

Every time you see what sounds like a wild claim about woke research, you can assume a) it will fall apart under the most basic of inspection, b) the person making the claim will never be held accountable for lying, and c) it is a cover to gut useful research that we benefit from.
Trump claimed the Biden administration spent $8 million "making mice transgender." The White House tried to back up this number with records of funding for research into cancer, asthma, and HIV, some of which used *transgenic* (genetically modified) mice.

This thread is important bc it means the AFT has brought a case that shows convincingly how DOGE’s seizure of data creates harm, like exposing consequential financial info for our students who have applied for loans.

If you (like me) have wanted to new ideas for local actions to show care for your community (because WE look after us; Trump & Elon obviously don’t), this list from @garrettbucks.bsky.social is very useful.
Thirty lonely but beautiful actions you can take right now which probably won't magically catalyze a mass movement against Trump but that are still wildly important
Why? Because others will see you do them, and it will make it easier for them to take their own (slightly less lonely but equally beautiful) action by your side
