so the two notable programming moves bari weiss has made at CBS are... airing an interview nobody watched and not airing a 60 Minutes segment that everybody watched. it's like she's satirizing herself

It's actually worse. The Supreme Court has held 9-0 -- Clarence Thomas and other executive power fanatics included -- that detainees rendered to another country via the Alien Enemies Act are entitled to a pre-deportation hearing. There is no legal debate whatsoever.
Belatedly, this line from Weiss' memo is...something

Let's get someone who says banishing to CECOT was legit, she says

Here's the thing: There's a consensus among legal experts that *wasn't* legit

You can find someone who says moon is made outta Fluffernutter. Doesn't mean you should quote 'em

As usual, the catholic church adopts a “Just Say No” position that stands no chance in the real world. The answer to the problem here is not prohibition but regulation and education. AI is NOT neutral, but also not unconditionally bad.

The Trump strategy, in fact, will be to label unwanted info and narratives as “woke AI”, censor them as much as possible, and promote the kind of “both sides” framework that makes things like climate change seem debatable.
If the choice is between Hitlerian AI and accurate AI, Trump is between a rock and a hard place. An AI like Grok that says—“I am MechaHitler!”—might expose his ideology a little too bracingly.

But an accurate AI will contradict his lies. trib.al/PNEDIIM
AI Doesn’t Spout MAGA Propaganda. No Wonder Donald Trump Hates It.
Trump’s executive order against “woke” artificial intelligence is really his and his movement’s admission that reality has a liberal bias.
