Noticing another uptick in fake AI slop food accounts on here... Some link to fake "blogs" with untested recipes and AI photos, others just follow-farm or spam food feeds. I drop all of these into a mod list if you want a one-stop block list that I update whenever I find new ones.

NEW: I spoke to clergy and faith leaders who've joined protests at the Chicago-area ICE facility.

(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

I see the video of Pastor Black is going around and I just want to call attention to how other protestors immediately surround him, check on him, and protect him from subsequent fire. When you read DHS press demonizing protestors, remember that.

I know there's a lot to keep up with but someone has ALREADY been killed by ICE in Chicago, its not a theoretical question, and folks are dying in ICE detention and being disappeared constantly, when you say "someone's gonna get killed" youre actually washing the blood from their hands 😘✌️

It's true. I've stopped going to the ER when it happens; just put some super-glue on it & drink my body-weight in cilantro smoothies every day. My antifa-appointed health advisor said it'll chelate that lead right out, no need to stop going about my important business of being a paid protester. /s

For those outside of Chicago, these signs are pretty common

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

Happening now: at Kedzie and 40th, where Border Patrol agents just opened fire on rapid response this afternoon. A woman CFD says they found after the incident is reported in fair condition.

A growing number of outraged neighbors have gathered across from ICE/CBP agents who have closed Kedzie.

Or track down an old copy of the 1981 Rodale Home Food Systems book, which is how I learned. My folks had a copy I used to lug around & read on the bus (nerrrrrd) & I eventually bought my own. Instructions for miso, tempeh, sprouts, all sorts of stuff. Reviews of products that don't exist! Hippies!

What DHS pulled in Chicago on Tuesday is wildly unconstitutional. They smashed down almost every door in the building, dragged entire families into the street, and detained people for hours ("Kavanaugh stops").

Ms. Fisher was held for five hours and another senior citizen was held for three hours.

Rodrick Johnson, 67, is one of many residents who were detained by federal agents during the South Shore raid. A U.S. citizen, he said agents broke through his door and dragged him out in zip ties.

Johnson said he was left tied up outside the building for nearly three hours before agents finally let him go.

“I asked [agents] why they were holding me if I was an American citizen, and they said I had to wait until they looked me up,” Jones said. “I asked if they had a warrant, and I asked for a lawyer. They never brought one.”
