I did say I had a work blue sky and IG, though admittedly my usage of this is low enough it took me a bit to figure out how to reply to this 😂

I had a truly lovely time presenting at @interdiscwitchysj.bsky.social (hopefully annual) conference! Brilliant keynotes, fascinating panels and I took no photos the entire day, which to me is always an indication of a day spent in good company!

Discrimination, harassment and violence will increase if trans people lose access to toilets and other spaces.

Many will feel driven from public life. That's what's at stake here.

There's no benefit to women. Just harm to trans people and anyone who doesn’t fit gendered stereotypes.

All of us, whether we’re trans or not, deserve dignity and respect, and the freedom to go about our daily lives without fear of abuse or harassment. Govt has urgent Qs to answer about how it will ensure those rights for trans people - sadly I didn't get those answers yesterday.

Today's Daily Telegraph advertisers include HSBC, Quooker, Noble Caledonia and the National Lottery

Screenshot of a graph tracking Daily Telegraph coverage about trans people from 2016 to 2023. The graph shows that in 2016 there were 10 stories in total, most of them positive (shown in green). But this changed significantly from 2020, when there were 19 such stories, the majority of them negative (shown in red). Then in 2023 there were *75* Telegraph stories about trans people, the vast majority of which were negative, with just a small number of neutral stories (shown in grey) and no stories at all characterised as positive.

The graph is based on reporting by Eli Folan within this Pink News article: https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/09/09/transphobia-uk-press-media-negative-coverage/

Is the government’s “dignity and respect” for trans people in the room with us right now?

Keir Starmer is extremely clear, it is wrong to make transphobic statements if they might upset a cis person

Badenoch asks Starmer to apologise to Rosie Duffield. Starmer does not. But he does invoke Brianna Ghey's murder to attack Rishi Sunak.

Absolute ghoul.

Trans communities are devastated by today’s ruling. Instead of bringing clarity, the Supreme Court has made a ruling which appears to contain a number of contradictions. The intent seems clear: to exclude trans people from society.

Happy International Women's Day everyone.

Some morning reading: a piece that outlines how the attack on trans people's bodily autonomy is an attack on cis women's bodily autonomy too.

👏 Yesterday, Minister for Women & Equalities Bridget Phillipson, confirmed the Govt will publish a draft Bill for a trans-inclusive ban on conversion practices.

LGBTQ+ people deserve to live free from this abuse.

1000 curses on whoever thought it was a good idea to theorise about homophobia, transphobia, and misogyny as entirely separate concepts, rather than all relating to the enforcement of patriarchal violence.
