BILELLO: “.. The Fed started cutting rates in Sep 2024 with the 30-year Treasury yield below 4%.

They've now cut 175 bps and the 30-year is above 4.9%.

The Fed may be done with inflation, but inflation isn’t done with the Fed.”

Saint Paul schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare for optional online learning.

I’ve seen schools close for snow, for pandemic, for natural disaster. I’ve never seen schools close because of threat from our own government.

Animal guardians (aka pet owners), check any prospective veterinarian's Rx policy - those that require handsigned scrips restrict freedom of choice, increase costs/waste your time, & can delay necessary medication if they don't have it in stock. Independently owned clinics need our support.

If you’re looking for something to do, start working on overturning citizens united in your state. States control the power corporations have. Take their political power away with a ballot initiative. Here’s how: open.substack.com/pub/robertre...
How to Get Rid of "Citizens United"
We can do away with it without a new Supreme Court. Nor do we need a constitutional amendment. There’s a far simpler way.

Jim Ryan's letter is not just surreal and troubling; it provides a series of deeply sobering lessons—about the perils facing public universities today; about what it means to "work with" this Department of Justice; & about what leadership does (and doesn't) entail at this especially fraught moment.
Former UVA president Jim Ryan, who resigned over the summer due to pressure from the Trump Administration, just shared this 12-page letter with the Faculty Senate, detailing his experience with the Board of Visitors and DOJ.

It's a surreal--and troubling--read.
