Whoever designed this set knocked it out of the park. It’s gorgeous and the build was extremely enjoyable.

How much of a Luddite do you have to be to be like “‘man, *fuck* wheels.”

Forest and trees re Epstein documents, as of now.

Trees: Controversies about particular documents.

Forest: Virtually none of the key documents, ones that we know exist, the ones the victims and knowledgeable observers have been demanding to see, have been released.

And so the coverup continues.

Hey, here's a thought. Wouldn't it be convenient if we had Bari Weiss cancel a CECOT story last minute, then leaked the video in Canada so everyone started paying attention to that because they think they're getting one over on Weiss, taking attention off of the Epstein cover up.

suspect a big reason why many academics and others who work in areas where getting facts RIGHT is key are disinterested in using LLMs for research:

they’ve tried it, they keep noticing major errors in output, and they conclude that having to verify all that doesn’t actually save them time.

I find that if you aren't using math on a semi-regular basis, you aren't digging deep enough into life.

I used a bunch of trig last year because it kept itching my brain that it took so long to descend the stairs in Silo. Turns out it should only be like a 2 mile walk around the central stair.
For good citizenship, statistics is more important than calculus or geometry.

The Trump Admin, continuing to far out pace the Onion.
The Trump administration’s release of the Epstein grand jury documents are entirely redacted.

It’s 119 pages of just black rectangles.

One of the things I've always appreciated about Dr. Levy, (ever since I heard him give a lengthy, scathing lecture on the evil of Calhoun in 2012) is that he doesn't shy away from saying what needs to be said to wake people up from their illusions of business as usual.
Nine years ago— during the transition— I did my first podcast of the Trump era. I think I traumatized the host, and I know my wife listening from the next room gave me a "WHAT THE HELL?" afterward. I was apparently supposed to provide some reassurance. I didn't.

More than $2.9 billion in reconciliation funds was allocated to beef up troop housing allowances. Now it’s being used for $1,776 checks.

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

Just oceans of rage barely contained in every photo.

I don't know, Aaron. I think we need to take this seriously. In fact, after surveying hundreds of years of history in the past few days, I've written an article assessing the originalist case here:

This is a problem w/ attempts to individualize the metaphysics of rights. Rights in the relevant sense aren't *claims* on govt, they're the *right functioning of* govt when appropriately *constituted*, as described in the document.

*Everyone* gets the rights because of how gov't *rightly functions*
NEW: 6th Cir upholds the fed law barring undocumented immigrants from having guns.

What's shocking, though, is Judge Thapar's separate opinion arguing that noncitizens lack not only 2nd Am rights, but likely 1st, 4th & other const'l rights! 🧵

There's a special place in my heart for two kinds of movies - time travel movies and completely ridiculous action for action's sake movies. Looper is a good example of both, but God, rewatching Tenet scratches such an itch. I love this movie.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.

You know that OU student who was failed by her professor for getting all biblical in her paper? When you read the actual article she was assigned to respond to, it becomes pretty fucking clear that she didn't do the assignment. She didn't respond to it. She wrote her own bullshit.
