We knew Bove "did not support the investigation" of Homan once he was at DOJ, per Leonnig and Dilanian's earlier reporting — covered here: www.lawdork.com/p/trump-disr... — but I believe today was the first we learned he was personally informed of the investigation before Trump's inauguration.

This is worded carefully — appropriately so, given the pending vindictive prosecution motion — but it is rare to see a federal judge state that DOJ's discovery materials "may contradict" its prior statements (in fact, its "primary argument") to the court in fighting the vindictive prosecution claim.
Here's the full order — storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... — in which Judge Waverly Crenshaw wrote that "the government’s documents may contradict its prior representations that the decision to prosecute was made locally and that there were no outside influences."

NEW: The Dec. 3 order in Kilmar Abrego Garcia's criminal case was unsealed today.

In it, the judge ordered DOJ to turn over certain communications to Abrego Garcia's lawyers as potential evidence in his vindictive prosecution arguments.

The U.S. calls these targets “narco-terrorists,” but this evidence suggests a much smaller scale: melted plastic packets reinforced with tape washed up nearby, mostly empty though some had traces of marijuana. This is more indicative of small-scale ventures than big cartels.

A scorched boat washed ashore on a remote beach in Colombia. Then mangled bodies. And then empty packets, a few with marijuana traces. We matched the physical and digital evidence to a U.S. airstrike — and found a fishing community terrified to go to sea. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/29/w...

A maternity ward doctor donated his own blood during surgery to keep a pregnant patient alive.

One woman gained fewer than 10 pounds over her entire pregnancy.

Another collapsed and had seizures during labor.
