... features a sticker from @vromansbookstore.bsky.social. Not only am I incredibly pleased with this slice of burlesque history, but I even discovered a new bookstore just in time for Independent Bookstore Day. (2/2)
It's a beautiful day in the burlyhood. 💋

I stumbled upon first edition a copy of "Blaze Starr: My Life as Told to Huey Perry" (1974) with an option to place a big on eBay. To my surprise, the seller accepted and here I am with a nearly perfect copy. It has a plastic protective cover and even (1/2)

Things I never thought I'd say until I started going to the library more regularly: "Did I find my first book booger?" 🤣

Those moments of rest are when I end up learning something new. Being able to follow a lead happens at the most random times in the most unexpected places. Take the break, focus on something else in the meantime, and then come back with fresh eyes. It makes a world of difference. 2/2
Today, I'm reminding writers not to give up on their work. If you're in the preliminary stages, where research, planning, and outlines are being drafted, keep at it. I've been working on a project off and on for the last year that I tend to revisit after breaks. 1/2

Before there was "girl dinner," there was boy lunch. In the case of "Less Than Zero," boy lunch consists of Clay and Rip having a little lunch, a little chopped salad, and talking a little business at La Scala Boutique.

In the past 48 hours, I've created too many blogging-related accounts, just trying to find the best place to go where I can write for me in a way that's authentic. I wrote a note on Substack about how too many options is getting the best of me, but I slept it off and was cool. Pffftt.🫠

Alt: Talk-show host Maury Povich frowns while his famous phrase "and the lie detector determined that was a lie" appears in written form. Povich is on set in front of a blue screen with the show title "Maury" to his right. This is a moving image, commonly referred to as a GIF.

made cabbage with sausage over rice for dinner tonight. cabbage remains such a world-beater. accounting in equal parts for flavor, versatility, and value, it's easily a top-tier vegetable, and although it may not necessarily be the best vegetable it should absolutely be in the conversation

Not only is this a desirable solution for those of us that want to use YouTube for long-form content, but it opens up the opportunity to discuss the idea of social media outlets providing options to disable features that some consumers don't want to use.
I maintain that YouTube should have launched a stand-alone Shorts app.

just totted up all the substacks I pay for and found myself thinking ‘wow wouldn’t it be better if all these writers were in one place and I could just pay a flat fee’ so anyway that’s how today I invented the concept of the ‘newspaper’

You can't sit there and disrespect someone in their home just to turn around and give fake compliments just to break the tension. I know my shit is cute that's why I bought it. 🤣
