Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

It is completely unlawful for ICE to turn away members of Congress like this. The law could not be more clear; no member of Congress may be denied access to a facility where ICE is detaining someone, and they cannot be required to schedule in advance. Surprise inspections must be surprise.
If ICE were acting entirely within the law and maintaining good conditions in all its facilities, they would not be turning Congresspeople away.
But they clearly aren't.

It's so illustrative of the pettiness of fascism. An undercover ICE agent cuts a guy off then arrests him for honking his horn. Then they arrest his mother and threaten his wife and child when the family complains
Wait, it gets even WORSE. ICE was interested in this family because an agent wanted retribution against the father of the baby, who apparently had honked at the care of an undercover ICE agent the day before who had cut him off.
