I think there was an inequity a few years ago in that it depended on if you’d been a “full time” grad student for a year or not, and how programs treated summer was the real issue. Some places could apply only their first and some also the second year.

I am on hold with the IRS and the representative has “picked up” so I’m out of the queue but isn’t responding. Lost 30 minutes in line.

After three hours waiting last night to find out I was routed to the wrong department.

I noticed SpikeVax on the syringe and was told they were reserving mNexSpike for over 65 and the immunocompromised. Asking for the swap and explaining I’m immunosuppressed was easy, but I did still have to ask.

PSA for others who are also immunosuppressed and interested in trying mNexSpike: flagging you are immunosuppressed and getting a confirmation saying you’re scheduled for mNexSpike is insufficient to guarantee that’s what’s in the syringe. Check and ask for what you want!

The Hamilton pipette pens feel way better in the hand and make better hair sticks than the Eppendorf pens. Unfortunately, when you turn the dial to change the amount, the numbers move in the opposite direction and it’s very disconcerting after years of other pipettes.
