Pretending audiobooks don't count or are inferior to physically reading discredits the entire oral tradition of literature, which predates written manuscripts.
A repeat thought, Bluesky, & a Librarian told you this so it must be true 🤣
Audiobooks definitely count as reading (as well as listening). If you've played through an audioook, its perfectly fine to describe that as "I have read [x]"
All other forms of assistive software count as reading too 💙📚

You might not know this but your local library probably has an app where you can borrow ebooks and audiobooks, for free! Some have apps that let you borrow digital comics too.
My library subscribes to Borrowbox and it's great, I constantly have 2-3 audiobooks on loan.
