It's 9 o'clock photo time!
Sunrise, 6 am from Washington State ferry Hyak as it runs along the north end of Lopez Island from Friday Harbor to Anacortes, Orcas Isle on left. Mt Baker in distance. June 10, 2013.
Beginning of a new day for a new beginning on a new platform.
Old tradition continues.

Bottom half of photo is orange water. A sailboat with its sails lowered is in the water, headed to the right from the left side. Behind it is the dark shape of a densely forested peninsula. Behind that are multiple ridges of forest on the other side of the water. Behind that looms a distant snow capped mountain. Much of the photo is various tones of orange due to the sunrise, with the sky less dark orange than the water. A few wisps of clouds are more of a yellow tone.

Transit service to the Anacortes ferry terminal is limited on Sundays (only higher priced Airporter bus goes there). The view of Mt Baker from Obstruction Pass in tonight's 9 o'clock photo was taken from the Bellingham - Friday Harbor San Juan Cruises, taken only one direction.

Bottom 2/3 of the photo is open water, except for the handrail and American flag hanging off the rear of a boat. In the distance is a snow-capped mountain, with various hills above the very distant water shorelines. All of the hills, islands and peninsulas seen are heavily forested. The sky is completely cloudless.

Called that bc there is a question mark like marking on the underside of the wing.

If the sun is setting, then chances are it's setting at the Lime Kiln Point Lighthouse on San Juan island.
I really like the wispy cloud patterns that happened in tonight's 9 o'clock photo.

Siluette of a lighthouse on a rocky shore. The very distant opposite shore has hills on it, with an orange horizon directly above. The sky itself fades from orange to yellow and then a deep steel blue-grey at the top of the photo. Much of the sky has light clouds, with dark grey, light grey, and yellow and orange coloring depending on the location. The stream of clouds in the center has wisps spreading towards the top of the photo looking a bit like a bit of cotton that has been stretched out so that it is transparent. The orange at the center of the photo is reflected in the sky, but much of it is dark grey.

Tonight is the final night of 4 nights not working (told myself I wouldn’t pick up at all) and it has been so reinvigorating. I’ve slept well, ate well, been active-ish, engaged in some self care, hung out with my dad, and actually spent some time in the sun. Need to do this more often.
