I love “Gremlins”. I love “Back to the Future”. I did not realize until tonight that the Mom in Gremlins, and Lorraine’s Mom in BTTF were both played by Frances Lee McCain. I can’t believe I never realized that before!

I've clung to grim belief that 1968 would be darkest year I'd see in US. Horrific assassinations. Real (not show) military occupation in DC. Tet and MyLai. 'Police Riot' in Chicago. Nixon/Agnew.

Not so certain any more. Back then 2 parties still functioned. A prez could resign for "good of nation"

If Roe v. Wade wasn’t safe, what makes anyone believe same sex marriage is safe?

It’s on the chopping block. Along with the rest of our freedoms.

First, Donald Trump used the Marines and the National Guard to support his mass deportation agenda in Los Angeles.

Now, he's using similar tactics in D.C. like a tinpot dictator.

Don't look away. Don't stay silent. If you do, don't be surprised if it's your city next.

"Trump also seeks political control over agencies that have long operated at arm’s length from the White House, like the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Federal Reserve. That, too, has echoes of China where the bureaucracy is fully subordinate to the ruling party..."

Just because you get a deal, doesn’t mean it is a good deal for America. Right now, a Japanese car is subject to a lower tariff than a car made in Canada, with American parts and some American labor.

Christopher Plummer's singing voice was fine. He liked Bill Lee's dubs better, which I understand, but his own voice was under-appreciated. This is from the "Cyrano" soundtrack, which he won the Tony Award for.
