It seems Russian cavalry is making a comeback. Russian occupiers have begun training their soldiers to storm positions on horseback.

Watching China parade its military for the 80th anniversary of VJ Day is quite surreal considering the military that fought the Japanese invasion of China still exists in Taiwan (in a form).

Frankly this is complete bs. I dare say that no one in Finland thinks that Ukraine should be forced to follow our example. If Stubb tries to push for this it’s not going to be popular. I personally find the whole idea highly insulting. Both to Ukraine and to Finland.

This is insanely ahistorical. The Department of Defense was an all new creation in 1947, specially to bring together the disparate armed services. The “Department of War” was really just the army.

There's speculation at the Pentagon and elsewhere that President Trump this afternoon will announce that the Department of Defense is going to revert back to being the Department of War (created in 1789 and dissolved in 1947).

Pakistan finally recognising Armenia is good, but it's funny that it took them this long. Both Turkey & Azerbaijan still maintain some level of diplomatic relations with Armenia despite mutual animosity, but the Pakistanis decided that they need to outturk the Turks for some reason

The funniest thing about the Snowden Saga was him loudly proclaiming that Russia wasn’t going to invade in Ukraine *while in Russia* then 6 months later popping out of his bunker to be like, “hey who amongst us hasn’t been wrong about Russian imperial projects”
