Fantastically purple gills on this Western Purple Deceiver - Laccaria amethysteo-occidentalis, the caps are decently tasty but the stems tend to be very fibrous. Seen here in Napa, CA

I wish it weren’t so, but the week between Christmas and the New Year always kicks my mental health to the ground & then kerb-stomps it. Something about it being such a liminal period of time, where nothing feels quite real, really ruins me, throws any balance I have completely off. Fuck Dec 25-31.

People get so pissy when I speak out against breeding, as if I'm being pointlessly mean and grumpy about their favorite color or clothing brand. Cats are not colors. They are not clothing. They are sentient creatures who should not have to suffer for human convenience or aesthetic preferences.
