Happy Valentine’s Day all! ❤️ What could be more romantic than listening to me dragging Hernán Cortés for filth on #YDTM? I had a great time with Jen Brister & @gregjenner.bsky.social & even got to call William Prescott a dirty old man on the BBC 😂 What a result!

For all those who say TS needed to stay silent on the issues for safety, Hayley Williams went on the Tonight Show using art and her privilege to call out white supremacy to its face in direct view of the White House.

Y’all’s favorite was just on the Tonight Show. If they wanted to, they would.

I *really* want more reporting on this because the book was pretty heavily vetted by lawyers in advance of publication….

This is so damn scary. The book claimed that Jeffrey Epstein was the one who introduced Donald and Melania. Now the CEO of Harper UK is out.

In other news Charlie Redmayne, the long serving CEO of HC in the UK, resigned yesterday.

As the first female Archbishop of Canterbury is appointed, it’s worth remembering that dissenting women were preaching to mixed sex congregations in London as early as 1645. My book Voices of Thunder has a whole section on 17th-century “she-preachers”

@zackpolanski.bsky.social nails it: "Britain is not broken because of migration. Britain is broken because of inequality. Because of an economy that allows billionaires to hoard wealth while millions struggle to get by. Because of a political class that has lost its nerve and forgotten its purpose."

I somehow missed the news of the horrific attack in Manchester yesterday. My thoughts are with the victims’ families and the Jewish community. Antisemitism is abhorrent and any attempt to justify such atrocities is disgusting.

Terrible news that two people were killed in Manchester attending their place of worship at the synagogue in Manchester, with others seriously injured.

Community Security Trust @cstuk.bsky.social who do so much to keep Jewish people safe at faith and community spaces have issued this advice.

Tony is many things but he isn’t a moron, so we can assume he can see exactly what kind of “peace” is being imposed upon the Palestinians and by what means, and we can instantly throw any charitable assumptions about his noble motives in the bin.

"He wants to be remembered for bringing peace to Palestine and Israel, rather than everything that happened in Iraq."
Tony Blair has a "long-term commitment" to peace in the Middle East - but is it to make change, or preserve his own legacy?

It really is just relentless the constant dehumanisation in this country. Prove you deserve to be here. Prove you deserve to be cared for. Prove your gender. Prove you deserve to have human rights. Prove you deserve to stay after a whole decade. It just chisels away at your humanity

Just fuck off with this. How about start the conversation by highlighting how much immigrants contribute to the UK - not least by propping up the NHS and social care system!

Also - forced volunteering is not volunteering, it's unpaid labour.

I wonder if this guy is related to "Boris Johnson" who introduced "voter id" as Prime Minister in 2023 ... off the back of some crazy US conspiracy theories ... and in the process, made digital ID pretty much inevitable.
Johnson says he will never use government ID

There seems to be some *confusion*
among Reform supporters over Nathan Gill being one of them

“But, but, Reform didn’t exist when he took his Russian bribes”

“But, but he was in UKIP”

“But, but it has nothing to do with Farage, he barely knew the guy”

So here’s a little history lesson 👍🏼🧵

There’s no easy answers for Starmer’s government confronting Reform. But it should understand the opposition. Not ‘ordinary Britons with legitimate grievances’, but a trans-national, far right propaganda machine built patiently over decades with Russian & US funders among others.

An interview about taking the fight to Reform in which racism isn’t mentioned once.

Not sure anything captures Britain today than the most mediocre of white men throwing minorities under the bus out of desperation to sustain himself in a role he never should have held.

“History will not forgive us if we do not use every ounce of our energy to fight Reform. There is an enemy. It actually goes against the grain of our history. It’s right there in plain sight in front of us. We have to win this battle.”

This. I'm seeing a lot of media coverage of this along the lines of "Trump and Kennedy are driving disinformation/are just ignorant" but its more; they are driven by a deep, obvious and abiding ableism--their contempt and dislike for disabled people are very clear and have been for years.

the most important thing to remember when you see eugenicists who don’t believe that autistic people should exist rambling about “the autism epidemic” is not that they’re wrong about the “cause” (although they are absolutely wrong about it); it’s that they are eugenicists
