I’ve seen too many Arsenal players suffer broken legs after being targeted by ignorant thugs masquerading as footballers to not be appalled at Leif Davis’ dangerous lunge. And saddened but not surprised by many home supporters deciding to boo a player who was nearly badly injured

Brexit wasn't anywhere near on the same scale but this does feel like it has the same enraging quality of making you want to go "I mean we could just....not? we could not do that? how about we simply don't, then line goes up again?"
The most enraging but also weirdly the only encouraging thing about that latest Once In A Generation (if only) crash is this one is so fixable. There’s no Covid, no subprime lending, just a dumb move that could be undone tomorrow. One man’s ego is the only obstacle.

This is a ridiculous situation to be in. I feel for Arteta and the players. They needed help, and for whatever reason - however well intentioned - we did not give it to them. You can't ride your luck forever. Now Kai pays the price and without being too dramatic, I think that is our season done.

I'm so tired. Another decision you'll have never seen before, and will never see again.

What is the point of trying to analyse a game of football when a referee does that?

I'm sorry, but you cannot convince me that's anything other than an utterly corrupt decision from an official who has done this to us before - AT THIS VERY GROUND.

PGMOL and Oliver can just fuck off.

I genuinely don't care what happens in the match from here, what can the Arsenal players do when that's what you're up against?
January 25, 2025 at 3:57 PM
Said it at the time, and will say it again - you will never see a 2nd yellow awarded for that again.
Wait.

Kamara, on a yellow card, just kicked the ball away from Arsenal players to stop them getting it to the appropriate spot on the pitch to restart play.

He wasn't shown a second card.

Don't think that could have gone worse. Out of the FA Cup, lost Gabriel Jesus to potentially serious injury, missed a load of chances, missed a penalty, played 30 mins of extra-time ahead of a North London derby, and the heartache of losing a penalty shoot-out.

A disaster of a day.
