Apparently Bluesky will suspend me for saying what Maryland fans and players should all do, but they know.

Watching the game on my phone with headphones. Room full of very non-basketball fans shocked as I cheer the Payne injury “stay down, you asshole.”

It’s pretty gratifying to see the entire internet dunking on this article.

I think it’s not only acceptable but obligatory to bridge material class divides to combat racism and other bigotry.

If you believe in bridging the racism divide to prioritize the shared interests of racist and non-racist workers then you view racism as relatively unimportant. F off with that.
i also believe in building a better world for workers. i also believe that all people are entitled to respect and dignity and that there ought to be social sanction for those who openly degrade others. you call me a “n*gger” to my face and i am not going to smile and shake your hand.

ah yes, all workers should have the right to hurl racial slurs at black customers
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

I cannot understand how people seriously think this way. Materialist class-first politics are brain-rot.

If we hire Brian Kelly I think I’m done for a while. He’s a bad, bad human being. Moore should be fired, and his actions after the fact tell me he is also also bad and not just inept. But BK is another level of all-around despicable.

The dunks on Michigan are mostly fine. Hate it but they are generally fair and a few are even funny to me as a fan.

Except sharing the mug shot. That feels pretty icky given, you know, history.

Thinking about the “EMAILS” word cloud from the 2016 election. An underrated problem was not that (only) that the story was BS but that it was the *only* Clinton scandal on which media focused.

Trump’s scandal a day makes it harder for people to sit with one and really shape a narrative.

Yes, this is why UNITARY EXECUTIVE THEORY has to be paired with MAJOR QUESTIONS/NONDELEGATION doctrine. Can't let Democratic presidents take advantage of these expansive powers
Kavanaugh pretty much just said this out loud
The practical effect of overturning Humphrey’s will be that Republican presidents can stack the formerly independent agencies with their copartisans and SCOTUS will be cool with everything they do but when a Dem POTUS does the same Roberts et al will declare all those agencies’ actions unlawful.

history of unitary executive theory, in one tweet

Step 1 - Formal logic requires you, a principled legal movement, to override centuries of tradition. Functionalism is irrelevant.

Step 2 - Functionalism requires you, a sensible legal movement, to create exceptions to the formal logic of Step 1.

cool that the official position of the administration appears to be that black people don’t really count as americans
"The Donald Trump administration has changed which holidays qualify for free entrance to national parks, removing two holidays celebrating Black people and adding the president’s birthday."
National parks change prioritizes Trump birthday over days honoring Black people
Free entrance days at national parks no longer include MLK Day and Juneteenth.

I am not a prison abolitionist and I will laugh at some really horrible shit, but this is 100% correct. Very worth reading and reflecting on if you have ever made or just overlooked a “drop the soap” joke.
Prison rape is actually not just widely tolerated, but celebrated. Many people think prisoners deserve to be raped. It’s a staple of Hollywood comedy, as widely popular as slipping on a banana peel www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Pretty sure the reason we don’t have a Democratic Party “interested in an anti-war movement” is that being “anti-war” is not actually a meaningful or useful principle, as seen by virtually all the people who self-define as such being adamantly in favour of wars conducted by states like Russia
