Satire cannot match reality. I feel you, Pitchbot. :(
I think we’re all fucked. I hope future archaeologists don’t look too unkindly on us. I think we have some legitimately impressive accomplishments.

Way too close to reality. I wonder if folks on the coast who voted for this guy realize what they’re losing.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

All kidding aside, the reason he is doing this is to establish some kind of culpability by @profgalloway.com and I. We never threatened these people but it is all in service of getting his supporters to think we did. It’s not a random tweet — all planned for a larger effort to silence us or worse.

Maybe the solution is: we make foreign aid 10% of the budget and we all declare victory?
One of my party facts is that according to polls, Americans believe foreign aid is about 25% of the federal budget and on average that it *should* be about 10%.

The actual number is less than 1%.

Foreign aid has long been a boogey man of the right, so it's not surprising they're vilifying it now.

Also… this is nuts…
Some buried news about DOT - last night Sec. Sean Duffy released this unhinged memo which directs DOT to prioritize funding for “communities with marriage and birth rates higher than the national average”, and prohibits DOT funding from going to communities with vaccine requirements. Link below 1/

This an ugly way to begin the four-year process whereby Americans relearn that the US government a) does all kinds of things they need but don't even know about, b) well, despite c) being chronically understaffed.
➡️ January 20: FAA director fired
➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen
➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded
➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees
➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years
