Agree, with the exception of George Springer who is this postseasons greatest villain as far as i‘m concerned.
Just friendly advice for the Dodgers fans: most fans of other teams are going to be rooting for the Jays no matter what, embrace the villain role and you will be much happier than trying unsuccessfully to convince everyone else that the Dodgers are the heroes everyone should root for

I always find it funny that they put the dugout openings right behind first base - built in punishment for bad throws.

Taking a roll of film to the photo lab to be developed. Then having Robin Williams, against type, begin to stalk your family, gradually escalating to blackmail and his eventual arrest.
What’s a real thing from your childhood that kids these days would find completely foreign?

Like, how we used to be able to walk right up to the gate to meet our family coming off a flight.

Or how we had to pick a spot to meet at the theater BEFORE we went.

Stood in line behind Danny Pudi at the pasadena intelligensia.

I think community was still airing at that point

A militarized swarm of federal agents, LAPD, LASD, and other state and local police forces aggressively descended on Los Angeles to wreak havoc on its population. If media wants to malign the nature of the protests *in response*, they’re missing the forest for the trees.

Between the fires and these protests, I hope this year teaches everyone that most of the shit talking you hear about California and more specifically, LA, comes from racists and gentrifying transplants. Most people love living here and would do anything to protect it.

For the record theres a pleasant little street market going on 2 blocks from the police action at the detention center.

I thought I would be safe if I positioned myself with all the cable news crews off to the side away from all of the protesters. But nope. I was wrong. The feds shot pepper balls at us, forcing us down Alameda Street with everyone else. @lataco.bsky.social

Good write up that matches my experience as a resident. i’d add is the slow pace of building out the expansion. LA has the same problems as CA and US generally of resistance that blows out the cost and timeline of projects.

I was working on the DTLA connection fully 12 years before it opened.
Okay, taking this opportunity to write about my experience with LA Metro. I used it basically exclusively to get around for the week and rode on every rail line (including end-to-end on B/D/E & most of A/C) plus a ton of buses

My big complaints were about frequency, speed, & land use near stations

My DEI training just described women bullies as being more “scheming and manipulative” than their male counterparts. Seems like the authors may benefit from taking the training themselves.
