I've seen an increasing number of people online confusing inspiration with fanfiction. Game Changer is fanfiction, stucky specifically. Twilight is inspired by mcr, romeo and juliet, and several other things and is not fanfiction. Inspiration does not automatically mean fanfiction.

What do you want to do with your career Taz? This. Teaching through actual play is so fun and rewarding. I will get this PhD and make this happen.
The fun part of today is Packing The Backpack of Games for the first day. We will play (as usual) FOR THE QUEEN, but I like to bring games that make it clear that there is literary and aesthetic merit & depth to explore.
Every few years my university comes back for spring term before January has hit double-digits.
And so today is finishing the last of course prep for the first day of class Wednesday

Engage with art and media directly. Follow footnotes and citations like a trail of breadcrumbs. Look at digitised archival materials (maybe even go to an archive if you’re able). But I think a really important facet of research that is often left out is speaking to other people! Talk to experts!

A reminder to archivists to not just powering thru if you find something upsetting in a collection. Our days can go from the joy of finding important photographs in under-described collections to finding traumatic materials within seconds. Take a break, get a snack. Your mental health matters.
