In 1950, the world produced just two million tons of plastic. It now produces over 450 million tons per year. Plastic production is projected to double between 2019 and 2039.

In 2024, every glacier region on Earth reported losses for the third year in a row as temperatures rose and rainfall patterns shifted.

At #UNEA7, Member States will discuss a new resolution to protect glaciers and the wider cryosphere.

⚠️ #DYK that lost & abandoned fishing gear (AKA ghost gear) is the most harmful form of marine debris to wildlife?

Whether lost through entanglement on a rocky seafloor or an unexpected storm that blows fixed gear off course, ghost gear can continue to entangle wildlife even while no longer in use.

I don't like working on the weekends, as it makes the next week harder to do academic tasks (talking for me).

Resting is always the best option, but sometimes we can't avoid working on the weekends, too.

Even though, don't forget to rest.

We have to celebrate our small successes, never overlook them.

Maybe you had a good day in the lab, your work was featured in the newspaper, or your committee meeting went well. There are so many moments worth acknowledging.

Celebrate with friends, your s.o., or your family. It’s good for you.
