Your favourite pragmatic poet, always angry or amused. Owner of too many plants, serving a cat, learning to speak in a mic, preferring the sun.
Working in tech, I often find that the question of "what problem you need the solution for" should be followed by "why do you have this problem?" Because often enough it turns out that this is just one step towards the Real Problem they have.
Which may result in a completely different solution.

As my cat has gotten older, she gets proper aggressive on catnip. When she was young, it was way more mellow - got high, ran around, was fun, slept off the hangover. But these days (last couple of years) it's become quite apparent to me that no more drugs for her, she can't handle them anymore.

I have a lot of complaints about tech these days. But there's one thing I'm truly enjoying as a newbie bass player - I can very easily record myself playing, analyse what needs to be improved, and work on those things. This is fucking amazing stuff and helps me immensely.
(Same with vocals, tbh)

One thing that truly fascinates me about doctors, is that they will without restraint poke you in the stomach and then act surprised that it hurts. Even if it didn't before, it sure does now, mate.

as a poet, I find it weirdly hard to write about things that don't piss me off. no, let me rephrase that, I find it extremely hard to write good poetry about things that (exist and) don't make me angry.
I suppose, I lack the practice.

The physio clinic that I frequent is magical in some way. The whole setup there is very tailored to make old people feel comfortable. Especially the rooms with passive treatments where you get a device stuck on or under you. There's cosy and colourful blankets, pillows, all that. I love it all.

I have a built in wardrobe in my bedroom. Recently I got a delivery in a rather spacious, yet shallow box. I put the opened box at the bottom shelf (so to speak) of said wardrobe.
Furfur is very pleased with herself that she has figured out a way to sit in a box and be in a shelf at the same time!

Life after one finds out one has a Nickel allergy is like prepping for a Chemistry exam. Which includes reading older publications where most of the research and statements are rather reasonable, but causes are facepalm. E.g. people get Nickel allergies because of piercings becoming more popular

Today is the day when I found out that I am not allergic to everything (except penicillin). Instead I am allergic to one single element that happens to be in pretty much everything.
What discombobulates me is that the doctor's conclusion was: avoid nickel, come back for a followup in 2 months.

Due to circumstances (forgot my work pass at home and my team isn’t on site today) I’ve spent the best part of the workday in the Other Building. The one where almost nobody knows me by face let alone name.
This has lead me to realise that I am very used to being equal parts stared at, yet ignored

Long time no cat pic. So, here - some cosy cosiness by Furfur, the great earl of hell, in charge of 26 legions of demons (according to wikipedia).

"how goes the aging gracefully," you ask?
let me tell you, that after spending two Saturday evenings trying to clean the red hair dye out of pretty much everything in my bathroom, I went for the sensible option this week - I put the "dusty pink" toning mask in my hair.

me and my bandmate were talking about my latest composition the other day.

me: I'd like to hope something will come of it. but then again, we're v good at not finishing shit.
BM: yeah, that's true, finishing is not the way we do things.
me: not by any means!

sometimes when I read articles or see videos about what the practical reality in these modern times is like for a musician, it feels very discouraging. and scary.

then I play some bass or the piano. read some poetry out loud. and I can't wait to find out how our band's first album will turn out

Went to the kitchen to make tea.
**sigh** everything runs out, ends, stops working, finishes, apart from dirty dishes. Dirty dishes never stop generating. And crumbles on the kitchen counter.

The “oh, I’ll bring my office cardigan home to wash it”, is often code for “it’s too cold to take it off”. Having said that, both statements can be true at the same time.

Me: look, I got some lactose free pudding!
Teammate: if you want more food, I have snacks from Norway - some bear, moose, other cured meats.
Me: please tell me you killed them yourself!
Teammate: ... errr, no.
Me: then no, thank you

I got my bass yesterday. The bandmate came over to check it out.
K: … still cheaper than an FM synth.
Bandmate: and more predictable!
Bandmate: **plays bass for a bit**
Bandmate: OK, I take back about the predictable.

Poet turned spoken word poet aspiring half arsed rapper notes:
Dear diary.
I have started editing my poems with the metronome app flashing the intended rhythm at me.
Reading them out loud to it.
Cursing my usual vocabulary.
Thinking about polyrhythmic possibilities.
End.

Me and @shulcs.cz went to see Sigur Rós & Český národní symfonický orchestr. It was a rather cultured setting with allocated seats and everything. No regrets. Amazing, moving, all that stuff.

And now I know I need to buy that bass.

I have started (implicitly, but still) murdering people in my poems. In the last one I wrote, I'm afraid I'll have to do another murder for the ending, I can't make it work otherwise.

And there I was, thinking I'm too old to be a serial killer.

Honestly, how does one choose between a Fender and an Ibanez? Asking for a friend looking to buy a bass.

Out of all Pratchett's characters I relate the most to Susan and Rincewind equally.

I have had way too much caffeine this morning. To the point where I don’t even know how to deal with this jittering because I also constantly need to pee. And I have found that these two don’t necessarily go well together.
