Whenever a Republican tries to convince you that they don't support Trump, point out that they are in an extremely small minority of the political party they're throwing their whole identity into.

Exactly it. I have come to think of people who don’t admit that the problem is the entirety of the Republican Party as fundamentally unserious. It’s why I don’t listen to Ezra Klein anymore.
yep. i can identify any number of structural issues but at the end of the day the basic problem is the republican party. this has been apparent for at least 20 years. it is also an incredibly unpopular observation to make among “serious” people.

This is the (should-be-obvious) truth. It’s easy to celebrate if you are so simple that you think it goes: corrupt leader imprisoned, mission accomplished.
Among the many reasons you don’t kidnap a foreign head of state at gunpoint even if you have the capability, is that it sparks consequences you can neither control nor anticipate.
