Blueskyers, I’m a retired political scientist, still actively writing and doing more real politics, whose core research has been on the history and political uses of public opinion. But I've done research other topics, too! My 1st pub was on abortion politics, the latest on ranked choice voting. 1/5

Wild stuff.

Of course, Susan Collins voted against 85 Biden nominees -- virtually all of them highly qualified.

Needless to say, none of them was a self-avowed Christian nationalist; vowed to break the law in office; or denied the outcome of the 2020 election. #MEpolitics

This political hit job on Dunlap, which only quotes national Dem figures and not a single person from ME, let alone ME-2, makes me angry. It has no mention of why people in the district are done with Golden, probably because the reporter doesn't know. #mepolitics

Study: Medicaid Expansion Linked to Better Cancer Survival at 5 Years

Remember when LePage tried to block it? It took until he was gone for us to have it. Mills expanded Medicaid on her first day in office. #mepolitics www.medpagetoday.com/hematologyon...

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

Unironically, you can see how these guys’ Twitter brainrot has progressed to this stage where they have trouble remembering that you’re supposed to talk about the Nazis as the bad guys. It’s not a winking nod to neo-Nazis so much as them genuinely forgetting which way is supposed to be up

This might be the worst ICE video yet, because it’s literally random dudes hanging around, and then a bunch of heavily armed thugs running them down completely out of nowhere, because they’re brown. It’s a nightmare that would have seemed excessive in Jim Crow. Everyone in America should see this.

ICE is not only chasing down every random brown person in Chicago, they have a cameraman following them to film this for social media. Cruelty and inhumanity as content.

Hard to take DHS seriously when they say citizen recordings are illegal but they’ve got a whole reality TV setup documenting their actions.

The post’s text is followed by a screenshot of security camera footage showing an ICE cameraman filming as officers seize two individuals.

Also a good example of how all of these people are totally poisoned online.

Even people with retrograde views on gay people, etc. rarely act/speak this way when in the presence of actual human beings. Only after swimming in a sewer of online hate do they think this is normal and acceptable.
whstancil.bsky.social
Just openly cheering the destruction of any representation of gay people in public space. They think their power is totally unrestricted, and the entire country will support them rolling back society to the 1950s, or maybe the 1850s

The No on 1 campaign has more money though and, as far as I know, they are the only ones knocking doors.

The obvious question here is how you can indict when you're "just getting your hands around" the evidence.
annabower.bsky.social
At one point during the hearing, the judge asked the prosecution why the case can’t be tried before mid-December.

Lemons replied: We are “just getting our hands around” discovery in the case.

There’s lots of it, he added, and it includes a “significant” amount of classified information.

Sounds like BS:

Collins told reporter she has circulated a tentative plan to reopen at least parts of the government. While the plan is still preliminary, it would AIM TO SET A DEADLINE FOR A DISCUSSION on ACA subsidies and strike an agreement to advance some appropriations bills. #mepolitics

Yeah, if Amazon has a picture snapped by the delivery guy that shows the box without all that extra tape, etc., etc., for example. I think someone has made the box recipient a beleaguered (whether they’re knowing or unknowing) and unfortunate participant in some kind of a misguided scheme.

I really believe that huge majorities of Americans don’t want masked soldiers shooting priests in the street. They don’t want naked children ripped out out of their apartments in the middle of the night and handcuffed. We win by making sure these stories get told.

The same people who insisted devout Catholic Joe Biden was leading a “war on Christianity” are now cheering Trump on as his armed goons assault clergymen.
