Things seen on the way to the beach.

Black-and-white photo taken from a pedestrian bridge overlooking a road with a single blurred car in motion. Dense trees line both sides of the road, and a tall streetlight stands on the right. A metal mesh railing frames the foreground. Black-and-white photo of tall grass swaying in the wind under a dark, cloudy sky. A lone tree silhouette stands in the distance, adding depth and mood to the stormy landscape. Close-up of a bluish-green plant with thick, spiny-edged leaves growing in sandy soil. Surrounding it are dry grass-like blades and straw-coloured stems, suggesting an arid or coastal environment. Close-up of a rusted metal flange with circular holes mounted on a cylindrical pipe. The background shows a blurred shoreline and body of water, highlighting the effects of corrosion in an outdoor setting.

Remains of the Mary Rose - Henry VIII’s warship that sunk in July 1545 at the Battle of the Solent. Raised in 1982, the ship is located and preserved at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard site. 📸 My own. #Woodensday #MaryRose #Portsmouth

There are no words to adequately do justice to the marvel that greeted me on the latest leg of the north county church tour today. St Mary's #Ellesmere is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING:

#Shropshire 💒
Looking across the churchyard to the cruciform wonderment of the Grade-1 listed St Mary's Ellesmere - which must be among Shropshire's finest. It contains Norman features but was restored in the mid-1800s in a Perpendicular Gothic style.

Yes, it absolutely does... Not specially an Appleton convert either, but not sure anyone would get much return from the budget he seems to have - though playing your two most talented players at wingback is also beyond me!

We’re super excited to be working with photographer Amanda Jackson to publish her body of work ’To Build A Home’ as a small photobook.

The work is a long-term study of the people of the Lammas Tir Y Gafel eco village & surrounding community in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Wonderful weekend at @orielcolwyn.bsky.social for Northern Eye festival. Lovely to get to know Peter Caton & his long term work in South Sudan, and Kyle McDougall. My highlight though was the talk and work of Margaret Mitchel, including An Ordinary Eden.

A beautiful autumn afternoon on Shawbury Heath:

#Shropshire 🌤️🍂🚴
Dappled sunlight on the main ride through Shawbury Heath Looking across to Matthew's Coppice. A green lane on the edge of Shawbury Heath, with Matthew's Coppice to the right, Grinshill off in the distance and a repurposed hangar from nearby RAF Shawbury in the middle ground. An area of recent clearfell in Matthew's Coppice.
