I can’t think of a better way to honor Jimmy Carter than donating to Habitat for Humanity. He and Rosalynn first began volunteering with the nonprofit in 1984 — 3 years after leaving the White House. They volunteered every year until 2020, eventually helping to build and repair 4,390 Habitat homes.

British Columbians must pay interest on all this government debt, to the tune of a projected $762 per person in 2024/25. That’s taxpayer money no longer available for important programs such as health care, education or tax relief.

NEW - BC will release its 2nd quarter financial results tomorrow at 1pm. These are unusually late (though they are also permitted to be late in fall election years). Will see if $9b deficit grows or not.

NEW - BC will exempt future wind power projects from enviro assessments, as part of 9 new wind projects accepted in a new call for power from BC Hydro today. Goal is to get them built as quickly as possible. Will power half a million homes. Expected to be operational by fall 2031.

the 90’s was peak everything including TV. I had TIVO, 2 recorders scanning 150 channels for shows I like and recording them.. including sports. At any one time I had 10+ shows queue up ready to go.. and fast forward through the commercials.
